Hello, my name
is Brenda Owens and the name of my cattery is
Chantilylace. Welcome to my home of hugs and kisses. I
have been breeding for several years and showing more
and more each year. I mostly show in CFA.
My twin
daughters bought me my first Persian from Dot Brown (Ezluvin)
,my mentor and good friend. Dot came to my home after
talking to my daughters to check us out and especially to meet my daughters. She brought with her three females
for me to choose from. I couldn't make up my mind
so I took all three. My daughters were going off
to college away from home and I was dreading the empty
nest syndrome. My daughters and I were ,and are ,so
very close.
Well, my life
changed because I didn't have time for empty nest, I had
so much nurturing to do I forgot all about being empty.
A lot has happened over the years and my life has been
so enriched and filled with so much warmth and love.
I found out however that it certainly is a challenge in
every aspect. You really have to be dedicated, a vet, a
surrogate mother, etc. (And a lot of money wouldn't
hurt). There is really so much more to breeding than I
ever could imagine, but I guess it doesn't matter if you
love it and I LOVE IT!!
I am blessed by
the Lord in so many ways both in my family, Church, and
now my beloved kitties. They are such a part of me now
and I could never picture my life without them even when
times are trying. It is such a bonding with unconditional
love that I couldn't begin to explain it all.
I am still, and
hope always to be ,a small breeder. I made that promise
to my family, to myself, and to my kitties. They
are spoiled rotten and run the house. I do have a
cattery, of course ,with cages and there are times when
you must use them. I have a Cattery of Excellence
Certificate that is provided by CFA stating that our vets come
in and inspect our catteries. I am a PKD tested
cattery. That is my choice for my program. I
breed for solids, particolors, but mostly for bicolors.
I breed as much for personalities (sweet, laid back,
lappy babies) as I do for show quality. I produce breeder/show
and pet quality kitties . I think that pet
quality is no less beautiful, wonderful, lovable
and sweet as my very best top show quality kitties.
Pet quality only means that they do not have all the
features that it takes to be shown.

I will ship my
kitties, but only under certain conditions because the
welfare of my babies is more important to me than the
dollar. I will be happy to work with you and help
you all I can if you would like to become a RESPONSIBLE
breeder. I would love to become a mentor to you if
you would like.
